About TH Media was founded in 2006 by John Salame. Soon after, John knew he needed help to get the company off the ground and enlisted that help from Todd Swanson. John and Todd were friends who lived in the Kalamazoo area and worked in the corporate aviation arena, John an aircraft mechanic and Todd a pilot. Both were college educated, had a love for all things technical and a passion for music. They were excited and intrigued with the new technology that was about to change the way people listened to music. The iPod was already a household name but listening to one on a stereo system sounded awful. The technology that allowed for more songs to be stored on an iPod unfortunately took away from the quality of those recordings. This is why lossless audio downloads were starting to be noticed. Lossless audio downloads and the storage devices (media servers) that stored those downloads/files were just coming of age. The cost to store massive amounts of digital media was coming down in price and the consumer was going to be the winner with this new technology. TH Media wanted to introduce this technology to Kalamazoo! John and Todd liked to listen to music throughout their homes and they thought others would too. The technology that enabled this had not changed in many, many years. So they began to look for products that would distribute music in the most clear, efficient and unaltered way. They found that product from a company called NetStreams. NetStreams had an entry level product called Musica. It was a distributed audio system that distributed the digital music right to the room where it would be heard. With amplified keypads and quality speakers, the product sold itself! No more long runs of audio wire that always picked up interference. The music was delivered on communication cable, in a digital format and then amplified right in the room where it would be heard. Amazing! John and Todd knew that the existing level of customer service being provided by competitors in the Kalamazoo area was lacking. TH Media needed to set themselves apart from the competition. They committed to provide the highest quality service to go along with their high quality product line. TH Media had the products, an even better service and proceeded to bombard Kalamazoo with their passion! |
